Bun Bo Nam

Ingredients
- 400g beef
- 2 stalks lemon grass
- 6 tbsp vinegar or lime juice
- 18 tbsp water
- 4 tbsp sugar
- 4 tbsp fish sauce
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 chili
- Lettuce
- 2 carrots
- 1 kohlrabi
- 1 cucumber
- Bean sprouts
- Cilantro, roughly chopped
- Mint
- Fried shallots
- Roasted peanuts
Steps
- Cut the beef into small slices. Mince the lemongrass and mix it in a bowl. Add MSG, sugar, and sesame oil to taste, and let it marinate. Do not add any salty ingredients during the marination.
- Julienne the carrots and kohlrabi, then mix them with vinegar and sugar. Let the mixture marinate.
- Julienne all the other vegetables and set them aside.
- Mix all ingredients for the sauce and bring them to a boil.
- Fry the meat.
- Add all ingredients to a bowl and garnish with fried onions and peanuts.
